Organised by Spoon Challenges in aid of Wooden Spoon, rugby’s charity supporting mentally, physically, and socially disadvantaged children and young people, this unique event is set in the glorious Exmoor countryside and consists of the Jaunt and the Challenge.  Special off-road sections of Exmoor National Park are used uniquely for this event. Most of Exmoor is closed to vehicular traffic, so this is the one occasion per year that allows access to some of the best parts of Exmoor.

  • The Jaunt has a variety of off-road sections of varying difficulty.  It is suitable for families, all skill ranges and most types of 4 x 4. Children in road legal seats with seat belts are welcome. There will be a maximum of 36 vehicles on the Jaunt. More Info
  • The Challenge is more demanding than the Jaunt.  Reasonable skills and a suitable vehicle are necessary.  Over 12's only. Challenge teams will need at least one winch per team and there will be a maximum of 8 teams or 24 vehicles. More Info

The event is non-competitive, so normal vehicle insurance provides cover.  However we request that you notify your vehicle insurer.  The event has Public Liability Insurance and all off-road sections have the landowner’s permission.

Registration:          £50 per person, £30 per child under 12 years (Jaunt only).

Sponsorship:         (Gift Aid Forms) minimum of £300 per vehicle.

There are three aims for 4x4 on Exmoor:

An enjoyable weekend of 4x4 off road driving, with good company, good food and the glorious scenery of Exmoor.

To raise funds for Wooden Spoon, the charity for physically, mentally and socially disadvantage children and young people. Spoon provides capital to fund strategic projects for the young and disadvantaged; whatever the cause of their disadvantage – physical, mental or social. Spoon is a national charity with local branches.

To support the local economy on Exmoor.  From lodgings to the wonderful meals put on in pubs and village halls, we make sure that everyone from the farmers to the local tourist industry benefit from the event.
